Our country is infamous for getting involved and then backing out when our help is needed the most. In many instances we should never have gotten involved to begin with (my POV), but almost worse is setting things in motion and then deserting those we supported and pushed to act. In many, many (too many) cases it caused more deaths and a situation worse than what it was originally. We have a very bad habit of sticking our noses (and military guidance, weapons, and funds) where it shouldn't be (even when we are asked for help) and then walking away in the middle of it all because the political climate has changed.
