Since you raised the concept of "fairness"...do you believe it's fair to refer to the product as "dot not"? IMO, it's not very professional - about as sophisticated as a bunch of kids doing a play on words to ridicule another kid's last name.

There's no question that moving to .NET means a huge shift and a big investment. These links point that out, though they make some conclusions that I don't necessarily agree with.

I'm seeing a return on investment on .NET work, and I'm sure others have well, though the level will vary greatly. There are many .NET success stories out there, and the on-line "how-to" knowledge base for VS.NET 2005 is SO much better than it was for the initial version of .NET right before MS released it.
