The argument is not becoming more persuasive, just more strident. Read a few Greek plays and you will know all you need to know about the Bible -- the need to create heroes and myths. I read the Bible exactly the same way I read "Oedipus Rex" or "Agamemnon" -- full of insight but not to be taken literally.
