Thanks. "Intellectual Pornography" is a good way to explain it. And allows me to continue without expressing what I really feel about nut cases like howard.

His thought process is what has allowed attrocities to continue throughout our history. His willingness to believe that he has been ordaned to force his believes on others is truly dangerous. In his mind it allows him to do all kinds of things to others because he and the other members of the group he belongs to are so willing to be led.

I thought we left this type of thinking behind many years ago. But obviously the weak minded feel the need to belong to a larger group and possibly as John B. has stated live thru fear.

>Sure. I believe the all things happen for a purpose. Nothing happens by accident or coincidence. God uses all things to do two things. First, He uses them to bring glory to Himself. Second, He uses them to make believers more like Christ. While the event in question may be a include a loss of life, some aspect of that event caused someone or several people to consider God and be awed by Him.

>Howard, I really resisted going any further with this - you're free to say and think as you wish, but I classify this under the category of intellectual pornography.

>Tragedies (like 9/11, what happened in London, plagues, wars, etc.) that take so many innocent lives are bad enough - any model that explains these tragedies as "God's will/plan" in the way you described is something my conscience will never permit me to accept.
