I assume they just decided to change the wording since scrolling 6 lines at a time vs. 3 (that was the default in the past, I think) will result in faster scrolling. I hadn't noticed a change, but then I guess I was just content with the default and hadn't looked at that in awhile.

>On its "Scrolling" tab the first item is labelled "Select a vertical scrolling speed" (emphasis mine), and under it a slider bar with one end labelled "Slow and the other end labelled "Fast". So I had assumed that this had to do with SPEED of the scroll and not the "size" of the scroll.

>I decided to play with it anyways (I sillily trust labels to say what they mean, and I have previously move it slightly towards "Fast" in the initial setup) and found to my surprise that it controlled the "size" of the scroll and had nothing to do with "speed".

>>Well, that's lame. I wonder why they'd remove that setting.

>>>Sorry, not an answer to your question, but rather something that may be related regarding vertical scrolling...
>>>
>>>I don't remember what small problem I was having with my mouse (MS Intellimouse Optical) but I tried to fix it by downloading the latest mouse from MS.
>>>I did so and things seemed fine. But then one day I noticed that wheeling as going over a "page" boundary by a couple/few lines.
>>>I went into the mouse properties and to my dismay found that there was no longer a setting for "how much" I wanted a wheel action to scroll. It used to be that I could specify # lines or full "page" or half "page".
>>>
>>>Since then I've been stuck with this unreliable wheel, and believe me this is much more than an "irritant".
>>>
>>>good luck with you problem (and hopefully mine is related < s >)

>>>>With VFP 9's help, I've noticed that the text always is wider than the display area (meaning that sometimes you have to scroll horizontally to the right). This happens no matter how wide I resize the window. This is just a small irritant, but I wondered if anyone else had noticed it (or is it somehow a product of my video card).
