>>>Tom said 'kills an innocent person'. What is it that police, soldiers and the like are, first and for all, suspected to have misbehaved terribly, even in a western country like Brittain? Don't they have any credit?

>>So if it turns out that the person killed was indeed down on the floor and with plain-clothes copss holding him down and THEN shot 5 time, to death, that is OK with you?

>These are tough calls. We are not cops. If I thought that guy might be grabbing a detonator, then I might have shot him 5 times too. If you've ever fired a semi-automatic, it's pretty easy to shoot more than once. Heck, actually it's difficult not to shoot just once.
I agree that it's a tough call. And I've always felt that in such cases subsequent investigations must give extra weight to the perceived danger level the officer(s) are exposed to. After all, these guys are doing something daily FOR ME (and you, etc.), and something I'm not really anxious to do for myself as well.
I was concerned that you saw the person as guilty and so the death justified.
Investigation may well agree that it is justified, but at this point running from police, being caught, and grounded, and then being killed appears to be a bit harsh of a price.
