Ah, deep breath, Nancy! There. I feel better.

Okay, the problem I was having is totally due to a documented bug completely unrelated to my view (of course).

Anyway, I do stand my opinion--based on my experience: views are not necessarily always the "best" way to go. That they have maintance issues (when altering tables, eg) and difficulties (problems in the view designer, eg) that make them overkill (JMHO) in some situations.

While, I will implement them gradually, I longer feel like I have to do so _right_now_. In a way I think I fell prey to the bright, shiny, new toy syndrome. Getting a handle on all but the simplest SQL-Select statements is not simple, guys. Figuring out how to get views to work with grids, navigation bars, and table updates is tough. Worth it, definately, in many cases. But not so important in others. Heresy, I know. Oh well. It's jolly fun just learning oop and _using_ it. I'd like to encourage people who are perhaps still making the transition to the visual world, to consider not throwing everything they know out the window right away.
