>And Food is a touchy subject. That's the one thing I miss the most from Venezuela, and I'm not talking about typical food, just regular food here is absolutely tasteless - how else can you explain the proliferation of steak sauces in this country? South of the border you just put salt on a piece of dead cow, put it on a grill and you have food. Here, you have to marinate, condiment, say a few prayers, put it on the grill and stil need to drown it in sauce if you want it to taste like SOMETHING.

One big difference between our and American cuisine is the status of pork. We practically never put beef on a barbecue - ground with at least half pork, OK, but by itself it's a great thing for a soup or a stew, but not for a barbecue.

Good for me, though - this also means that the pork is relatively cheaper here :).

American dream: sue someone and make big money out of him in court.

American nightmare: someone sues you and gets big money out of you in court.
