yes. you are right terry. with that code, backspace,delete,home,end,insert,escape,arrows etc . all these kind of keys wont work. either i have to include these keys also in that list.

or if i do the other way round. i.e. make a list of chars that i want to restrict. then also i think its a big list.

guess i just have to do either of choice. there isnt seem to be any other simpler way around.
