>Our republican form of democracy is a contradiction within itself. Take “Freedom of Speech” as an example. During our history laws and acts have been passed for one reason or another to reduce our “Freedom of Speech”. If you wish you can do a lookup at Google - Sedition Acts United States.

>Now what does “Freedom of Speech” mean? Our courts are still interpreting the meaning of our Constitution. The meaning changes with time and is not an absolute. The Constitution may be seen as an idyllic document, which has many interpretations. From an academic viewpoint taken within the context of the founders of our nation and comparing it over time you see conflict.

Yes, I understand there is debate about the 'freedom of speech' laws and acts. But hopefully that does not imply that nobody is ever forbidden to speak in your country. I'm not pleaing for a McCarthy society. But the free, democratic states (yours and mine) must be cautious! In the Netherlands and in Brittain, the time that judges could totally override political decisions is over.

If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
