>>I'm not folowing why yu would want to add the current date to the comments already there. So, I am assuming that you want people to put comments in the cells and that when they do, it also puts the current date in the cell as well.
>>
>>If so, yes you can do that. However, you would not do it by inserting a comment. You would do it by having the user run a macro. The macro could open a dialog box asking them to type their comment, then have the macro add that comment along with the date as a comment in the cell.

>I have comments and I want to insert a variable, in this particular case, the current date, into the comment. When you hover over the cell, I need it to show whatever text was previously entered, and the current date in the text. Like putting a variable into a Word merge document. "Today is =Now()." I have a feeling it can't be done.

If I am following this, then today the cell would say "8/25/05 - Yada, yada, yada" when you hover over it and tomorrow it would say "8/26/05 - Yada, yada, yada" I think you're right. It can't be done.

>Does anyone know where the comments are stored? Is there a way to extract the text from multiple comments given the cell range? I'm talking about "comments" specifically, not the value in the cells.
