However, you can bypass the 64K row limit if you load external data into an Excel PivotTable by directly manipulating the PivotCache object. I routinely use this technique and push 800K+ rows of data to Excel. Now the end users have a very nice query tool with built in graphics (Excel PivotChart [Excel 2000 and higher]), drill down capabilities and data filtering. I always say that one of these reports can be equivalent to many old reports in that the user can directly manipulate the results and they are not put off by a learning curve as there is nothing to buy and nothing new to learn.
