Whoa! I stand corrected. In the UK most people didn't even HAVE fridges back in the 50s, let alone the 30s, making do with the good old-fashioned cold larder, and shopping for fresh produce practically every day.

Having stayed many times in an old Victorian farmhouse, out Simcoe way (Beaverton), I've probably unknowingly been using one!

Still, as you say, not the original motors though!
