My reasons are even less noble then yours. Gave up cable long ago and have been getting 5 or six stations pretty well. Lately for whatever reason, the reception has been worst. That coupled with my occasional lack of anger management, and out the door it went. I'm not minding the results though, other than the news and a couple shows that I enjoyed each week.

>I dumped my cable about 12 years ago now, and since my TV is in the basement and I have no antenna, for about 10 of those years, for all intents, I had no TV at all. I didn't miss it even a little bit. A couple of years ago I got talked into buying rabbit ears for it. Now I get 3 channels badly.

>I didn't get rid of it because of a sense of the evils of TV or any of those cliché reaons; I just realised one day when I went down and turned it on that I hadn't turned it on for about 3 months previously. At that point I decided that paying for cable was pretty much a waste of money.

>>Funny you say that. I just tossed my TV out the door last week; maybe not for all good reasons. It has forced me to do more artwork, reading, research, etc. Though, I really am going to miss House, Lost and the CSI series...

>>>>Stay home read a book until prices go down again... hmmm perhaps you'll be forced to read many books before that happens.
