>My reasons are even less noble then yours. Gave up cable long ago and have been getting 5 or six stations pretty well. Lately for whatever reason, the reception has been worst. That coupled with my occasional lack of anger management, and out the door it went. I'm not minding the results though, other than the news and a couple shows that I enjoyed each week.

Let me assure you - there's no news. I learn (and see!) much more on the Web. There's endless announcements of upcoming news, after these commercials... few days ago I saw a bit of news being advertised three times during the news broadcast, and when it finally arrived, it was exactly what we already saw, with about two additional seconds of the same scene, and one sentence of text that wasn't in the announcement. And that's the only time this year they got me to keep the TV on after local weather.

Had they had sports scheduled before the weather, I wouldn't be watching it at all.
