Yeah, I know what you're saying, but I can no longer apologise for what our forefathers did a couple of hundred years ago. And as I did point out, we have treaties that outline our commitments, and we need to live up to those commitments. The whole world was eventually settled by people who were not native to their current areas, and who fought wars. If a group comes here and makes war on us, and they win, then they get to dictate the terms. It's the idea that someone should move here and dictate the terms without having done anything to actually earn that right that bothers me. Especially when you consider that many of the immigrants we get are from cultures that are running away from what their culture has created in their own countries - then to drag all that same baggage here and demand that we carry that baggage for them? No thanks.
