The problem is that it is unconstitutional.

There are three types of opinions here.
a. the ones that recognize that it is unconstitutional and want to do something about it (those two words should not have been added in 1954 to begin with).
b. the ones that do not know it is unconstitutional or do not care.
c. the fundamentalists that want to change the constitution.

The PoA is suppossed to affirm patriotism and keep us together:

"one nation indivisible-with liberty and justice for all."

In 1954 Congress added a divisive clause "under God" that divides us in the choice of religion or lack of.

I do not know which god you pray to if any, nor do I care. Just don't make me or kids have to pledge to a god (any god) in a public school or any public event.
