Another part of the Pledge, pledges allegiance to the flag and republic that provides "liberty and justice for all". This liberty and justice ought to include liberty and justice for the religious (including Christians).

Dictionary definition: Tyrant - an absolute ruler unrestrained by law or constitution.

Many US courts are already showing themselves unrestrained by the US Constitution's 1st amendment protection to "free expression" of religion.

Either a nation submits itself under God and His Laws or it tries to reverse the submission. The "under God" clause is essential. There is no neutrality. God's and His Law is either Supreme or subordinate.

The recent looting and anarchy in New Orleans shows where human behavior will go when it is unrestrained by proper fear.

Government, in its proper role, imposes restraints on theft, violence, and other crimes. When governments are unrestrained by a Higher Power, then they are unrestrained themselves from becoming a source for tyranny and injustice.
