Hi Terry,
Think a moment about what kind of shot you would have if you had the actors laying flat on the bed and the camera angle either from the foot or side at or below the actor's eye level. Wouldn't make much a shot and it would pose some problems for dialogue as well. Makes me assume it is for movies/tv.
However, I often not only use two pillows but also a large additional support with a steep angle. Reasons???:
1. I wear tri-focals and can't see TV when laying in bed without pretty much an upright position.
2. I tend to get reflux if I don't and go to bed too close to the time I ate or if I eat later than 9 p.m.
3. I often like to read or do Saduko (?sp) or crosswords. They don't work too well in a more prone position.
Hope this helps!
By the way, do folks in England have any of the above issues? If so, how do you deal with them???? <bg> ;-)
I Have some friends from Cornwall visiting me in Texas in the next few days. I suppose I can ask them.
