The believer who may be afraid of what the non-believer may say that is interpreted as a threat, and visa versa. That's why it has always baffled me when athiests get so angry at god or those who want to display their faith. What are they so afraid of? lol

Umm.. but wait a minute. Aren't "Love of God" and "Fear of God" almost used interchangeably in the religious community?

But as far as fearing those who want to display their faith is concerned, well, I can only speak for myself, but I don't fear their display of faith so much as I fear the Government in any way giving official sanction to any given religion. Once that religion gets an official foothold in what is supposed to be a secular system, then anything might happen.

That's why I personally oppose the idea of God in the school pledge. Not because it is some sort of horror for some people to believe in God, but because it gives official Governement sanction to it, and the Government does not belong in that world.
