Juan, you caught EXACTLY what I was getting at.

Even if they have some very competent "testers" now on staff, the EXPERIENCE of testing VFP would likely be near zero in the current staff.
And as you note, THAT MATTERS.

And how many of the "regular" (closed) beta testers are now out of the VFP loop????

Too many businesses today are replacing "expensive" EXPERIENCED people with cheaper first-timers. It may look good on this quarter's bottom line, but in the end a much much higher price is paid. Which is immaterial as long as they can keep the bottom line looking good... until the only remaining option (after overworking staff, reducing staff wages, reducing staff benefits, milking local/state tax 'breaks', etc.) is to move to China.

>no kidding!...how come I missed that being a fox developer since foxbase times. <g>
>
>You are missing the point here. The circumstances are different than in previous times. Fox developers can't ignore the changes ocurred in the VFP team this year, specially the ones at the Test Team as described by John Koziol's, on a different thread here on the UT, as his reasons for leaving MS.

>Maybe Jim thought about this, maybe not, I don't know, but his comment rang a bell on me.
>In any case my point is, and I think is a valid question, how much testing the users will be doing now that previously was done by the Test Team. IOW, how else would they do it (if not with the cooperation of fox developers) now that, as it seems, the Test Team has gone through radical changes.
>
>Don't get me wrong, I think feedback from the community is great but it has to be in addition and subsequent to methodical testing procedures, and what I am questioning is how much of each are we getting in this case.
>
>Not big deal from my side, just a cautious concern.
