Hi Kevin,

I like your example above much more than mine as it's more politically correct. You're definitely getting the hang of it. Good! ;-)

You just made it orders of magnitude more interesting. If it is found statistically that the majority of a particular group of people make a particular choice, I find it correct to assume that by eliminating that group, you reduce the frequency with which that particular choice is made.

Please keep in mind that the rightness or wrongness of the choice is irrelevant, as is its cause.

The heart of the issue is, regardless of how politically incorrect it may sound, and this is for illustrative purposes only, that if statistics indicate that in a specific city, there are 100 thefts every day, and 35 of them are committed by blacks, it's mathematically and statistically correct to assume that if all blacks left the city on Thursday, on Friday you should expect no more than 65 thefts.

I don't know Bennet's politics (this is the first time ever I hear about this person), but so far you haven't convinced me that his reasoning isn't sound.

Of course, this man now won't be able to ever run for president because a lot of people (you too, for example) has made the choice not to read beyond the very inflaming statement that he made and not bother with the context in which it was made. In your eyes, he's a racist (which he very well may be, but you can't determine that based on this statement).

Alex
