Title:
Sell VFP9 as SQL-Server Query&*Reporting*?!
Environment versions
Network:
Windows 2003 Server
The whole John Koziol story made me rack my brains while I was on the bike today. The apparent, immense return on investment pressure on the team actually frightened me.
Though I think VFP got more good marketing than ever recently by the LINQ story, I think there´s more money on the streets during the next months.
AFAIK SQL Express doesn´t have any reporting features at all. I don´t have the big picture what reporting is like and how much $$$ in the VB Express,... VS or Crystal reporting products, but I think VFP9SP1 really stands out with its querying and reporting features.
With all the marketing machinery that´s going to get up to steam next month, wouldn´t there be some crumbs for VFP too, or for a limited version (including a special wizard)? Or would that be a business opportunity for developers?
Just caring
G
PS: Kudos again to the (reporting engine) team! Great work!
