You are trying to start a war over semantics. You question Kevin Goff on his level of knowledge and ability. Have you read any of his excellent articles in "Code"? There are a handful of folks who post here that I wouldn't look to question a response of theirs. He's right up there in the list.

If your questioning how many dotnet apps there are out there, all you need to is attend a user group meeting. There are plenty of them out there. In any given month there are at least 4 meeting in the general Los Angeles area.
