I am enjoying the semantic discussion here. I am not going to join in on the pile up discussion of VFP, but would like to discuss the options discussion you are having.....

Here's my take.... A lot of developers say... I choose the right tool for the job. That statement implies they have more than one tool in the toolbox. Could you see a diverse toolset as a diverse set of options ?

If you would like to move this idea to a diff thread I am 100% game with that.

I think this is a discussion of general software development that is worth pursuing.
