This is not actually a Foxpro question but I would like to submit it to the Forum anyway.

I had a customer who became very irate because our VFP application was not backing up its files properly.

I eventually found that the backup folder properties were set to "Read Only". When I unchecked the "Read Only" check box the backup worked properly.

But in spite of the program working properly now, I looked again at the folder properties I noticed that the check box had returned to the check position. We brought in the technician for the customer who logged on a site administrator and he also was unable to premanently remove the check from the "read only" check box.

I went to 2 other XP machines and found the same problem. It seems that the "Read Only" condition may be lifted by unchecking and pressing "Apply" but the Read Only Chceck box constantly dosplays as checked.

Does anyone know how to get the "Read Only" check box to permanently show unchecked in Windows XP?
