Marketing independent consultant services
Greetings,
I have been on my own doing VFP and web development for the last few years. I am a full time developer and I have a couple part time programmers who also work for me.
Up to now, all of my clients have been obtained via "word of mouth". Some of my projects are nearing an end and I am beginning to be concerned as to how I should go about finding work to fill the gap when these projects finish.
In the past, I have tried placing an ad in the local newspaper and have done a small direct mailing, neither of which bore much fruit.
Have any of you found a "tried and true" way of spreading the news about your services? I would be interested in hearing how some other independent contractors find new work.
