Niall,
I did not find the learning curve for .NET too steep, but that beeing said I used to code C and C++ back in the days so I was familiar with the syntax. If you are creating a PPC app I think the best choice is VS.NET. I personally do not write too many PPC apps I stick with desktop apps, but I try to help the PPC developer whenever I can. (I do write some small apps for my own PPC just for fun). What I am really interested in is the transfering of data between PC and PPC. I will have to make up my mind relatively soon about how I want to proceed.
