Jim,

Like several folks here, you take too much of what is posted to heart. I did not say that you have no sense of business. I merely told you how I view things from Microsoft in that I view things from both a business and technology perspective.

I really don't see how you - a computer professional is hurt - by the stuff coming out of Microsoft. Yes, I wish some stuff would slow down to enhance quality a bit. But then again, the quality has never been bad enough to stop me from doing my job or delivering projects.

If you want to call and label me a MS drone - fine. I make a pretty damn good living - and from my perspective - MS has treated me fairly well.

However, if you bitch is in how MS does business, I would get off that soapbox. What folks should do is organize their technical complaints about VFP - and present them to Robert Green and Paul Gross. Its kind of like fighting City Hall. If you are dis-organized and do not have a clear message - you will get nowhere.

Tell me, what good does it do to bitch about how MS runs things. Tell me that the way MS runs things has stopped you from doing something. Those that make the leap to incorporate other tools have made the right choice - because projects have to get delivered. I understand and sympathize with the developer who would like things the way they were 4-5 years ago - in that you could build your solution with 1 product. Its 1998 and times are different. Yes, there are still plenty of times when a traditonal achitected app is the way to go - and VFP does this wonderfully well. However, if your architecture changes - sometimes your tool set has to change as well. Don't you enjoy learning and using new tools?
