Unfortunately I don't see a peaceful way to unite the two as long as current N. Korean gov't is in place.
As a Korean-American, I have not a single grain of trust in the N. Korean gov't.
The younger S. Koreans are nieve and foolish. The sooner N. Korea disappears, the better the world will be.
