From my limited point-of-view I can see no other option than the north be 'absorbed' by the south and never the other way around.
If the younger South Koreans have other possible visions then I'd have to say that naive is polite and foolish minimally correct.

As regards bashing President Bush I still feel that the real problem is that he trusts his advisors too much and, worse, sticks by them even in the face of overwhelming evidence of gross mis-advising. The president, and thus the country, naturally get tarred with those mis-advisings.
I continue to believe that a huge majority of U.S. residents are upset by the overall de-generation of government there and the image of the U.S. seen now by other countries.
