My approach is to do the negotiating with whomever at the clients. Once we have pretty well fleshed out the relationship it's time for the attorneys to finalize it with a contract acceptable to both parties.

Sage advice! An ethical attorney will advise that we negotiate (non-binding - of course), and then when an agreement is roughed out - have the attorney write the agreement. It is always better to have your guy write it!
