Take a look at Hungry 1956, as but one example of the United States making a promise to help and doing nothing. I think that the majority of Syria are responsible for the Syrians leaving.

Imagine rich and poor Christians and Muslims demonstrated together, to indicate their feelings towards the occupation by Syria after the death of Hariri? Yes, the United States and France stated that Syria must leave Lebanon but could we have backed up our words?

With two wars being fought with middle eastern countries, and the existence of an Axis of Evil, I somehow doubt that any military assistance from the United States would be given. If we did provide military assistance, then we would have to send our women and children to fight.

>As a Lebanese-American I am very thankful for president Bush for freeing Lebanon from the Syrian dictatorship. If he did not put the US weight behind freeing Lebanon, Lebanon would have still under the Syrian dictatorship paws.
