If I define "liberal" as "socialistic idealistic unrealistic cowardly wishful ignorant intolerant and bigoted" then I can attack liberalism as a whole and make self-proclaimed liberals feel defensive, whether they adhere to my chosen characteristics or not.
Which is exactly what you do when you choose to align "conservatism" with everything bad in modern society, reserving all intelligent capability for fellow smugees who consider themselves "enlightened liberals".
i assume you are aware that many conservatives are pro-community and anti-big-business. Many are also athiest. Or aren't they allowed to be conservative?
