I don't do shifts. We have people in the Network Operations Center here that do (3-shifts to cover 24 hrs).

I am a one man VFP shop, part of a 5-people ASP.NET Dept. (I do ASP.NET too). All the ASP work is in C#. All the Windows Forms work is in VFP. My hours are come and go as I please, usually in by 6:30 or earlier to beat traffic, out by 16:00 (4pm) unless there is a problem where I have been known to stay late or to go home for the day and be called back in for a production emergency at midnight (maybe once or twice a year I have to do that). Not bad a deal at all.
