I recommend you do a little further reading. Our founders came because they wanted religious freedom, not religion that was dictated by the Church of England. There are many references to God throughout our history from the Declaration of Independence to the prayers that are said before every session of the US Supreme Court and the House and Senate. If you take God out of government, you leave only the devil! The original goal of the founding fathers wasn't to remove God, it was to remove a state religion.
