...preparing my whiteboard so i can paint you the answers...

Yes

>2)You have VFP "stuff" on a Windows Server
mmm...Not a Windows Server ( not very fund of those sorry ) but a IIS Server. The data and stuff resides on a beloved Novell 6.5 Cluster.

>3)You desire your UNIX client to transact with the VFP "stuff" on your windows server?
Yup! Just change the windows server part...

Yes, in other scenarios, for instance whenever i need to refresh data, in web environment, a-la VFP Valid() method, i.e not refreshing the whole page but just the desired control. The only way i found to do this is using XMLHTTP

You don't say...

..geez i read something about this in the Captain Internet ( some local stuff, don't ask ) last week, but since i'm becoming senile...i'll draw on my whiteboard a big note to save this stuff next time i bump into it ( sooner than you think, you are right about the gossip going on )

>PS - Love your new hair:-)

>>Is it possible to consume a VFP-generated web service from Unix? I generated the web service using the vfp wizard/soap toolkit, and i was under the impression this is not achievable ( good look trying CreateObject("MsSoap.SoapClient") from Unix :-) ).
>>In the meantime, i created an ASP wrapper that calls the web services and they just post the data to this asp page, but the guy at the other end send they consume soap web services by entering soap:action clauses in the XML. Any clues?

Why do programs stop working correctly as soon as you leave the Fox?
