Women are constitered a minority, African-americans are considered a minority, asian, native americans (indians), gays, hispanics, he11, even the obese are considered a minority (my best friend is one). The only group of people that are not considered a minority in this country are the white-middleage-hedrosexual-male. In comparsion, the rest combined, we are the minority. So, who is protecting us? And what are we suppose to be protecting them from? Us? IMO

For the most part, the white-middleage-heterosexual-males still run things and make the rules. When an aboriginal man/woman comes for an interview and is subconsciously dismissed as a job candidate by that white-middleage-heterosexual-male mentality, this is a problem. And this is why there must be laws to protect them from that sort of mentality.

I don't believe in the quota system that says, for example, "13% of the area population is black, therefor 13% of your company/police department etc. must be black". I see that at artificial nonsense, but if only one tenth of one percent of your company/police department are black, then I think it at least bears looking into, and probably indicates the need for a cultural change at the top.
