Today my boss calls me to her office and asked me if I would be willing to generally put programming behind me and learn the art of Oracle DBA/PL/SQL developer. She said we have enough programmers, but lacked people with DBA skills and would like to groom someone from within, someone who is already familiar with our database. This would mean however I'll be committed to my current employer for anther two years, which wouldn't be bad. I just started to do some .NET, but I'm just good enough to be dangerous, as the saying goes. After 12 years of VFP/ASP, it would be a big change.... err little more money tho. :)
