Main reason I want to do it is I've become quite bored with programming. It's become just something I do for a living, rather then somethnig I enjoy.

I think'll I'll do it, but I not looking forward to the learning curve.

>I think one of the main factors is: Would you like it? I would; it is still computer-related, and still somewhat related (databases; and I assume PL/SQL is actually programming, too). Also, you get paid to learn something new. Not bad: getting the time to study something new on your own (when it is not a regular part of your job) can be quite difficult.
