Thanks for the info, great questions. I even knew these kinds of questions were needed, but didn't think to mention it, because I'm talking very simple and forgot you couldn't read my mind.

Only static pages with maybe some sinple front page stuff and maybe mild java. Don't mind sharing a server at all. I would think you'd have a pretty demanding web site to need your own server, but I wouldn't want my site slowed by somone elses site and I would assume some shops do better than others in distributing the load.

OK now for a dumb question from me. What is LAMP?
