I've experienced several differences depending on MS ODBC Oracle driver or the driver from Oracle.
I'd be curious if you will get the same error if you swap out the driver from one manufacturer to the other.

Driver is probably out of resources". I've googled it and while this message has been seen before with Oracle, there is little advice. The 3rd and 5th error parameter are supposed to return extra clues for a 1526 error, but they contain no value.

We're therefore assuming this is a catch all message for uncommon errors. We've told the customer to turn on ODBC Trace to see whether there are more detailed clues to be had.
