I'm going to agree with you here since you wrote 'reasonable.' The problem of course comes when you need to pull larger amounts of data or do any data munging. I haven't seen anything yet that demonstrates that net will work as efficiently in that regard as VFP. That doesn't mean that it won't or can't but only that to my knowledge it can't. I admit I am still learning dotnet so I wouldn't know and I hope to learn more. I like this discussion and I like the idea of others attempting optimize the apps so that in the long run we get the most efficient means of accomplishing the task in both tools. Something everyone can benefit from regardless of which tool it could be developed faster in or with which tool the end result will be faster (did I word that correctly?) :o)

>>I don't think so. Have you ever tried pulling 100K records in .Net? If yes and see better results then you have a supercomputer maybe, not all of us have.

>Why does it "always" come back to this? LOL. Do you have a lot of apps where you present/display 100K records to your users? If you pull a "resonable" amount of data from the database and present it to the user the user is not going to complain if it takes 1sec in .net or if it takes 0.09secs in VFP. Just my $0.02.
