While compiling an app on my new computer, I ran into a problem that I attributed to not having VFP's PATH set correctly. So I was modifying it and referring to how I had it set up on my old machine. I noticed that I had some strange entries in the path that I decided must have been pulled from the OS environment and existed in the VFP on initial startup before my program appended other folders to the path. One was a Roxio folder, one was a QuickTime folder, and one was a folder for a small oscilloscope app I installed awhile back. There was no reason for any of those to be in my path and I wasn't explicitly putting them there. Does VFP read path info from the OS and put that info in the VFP path at startup? Obviously, I can just override that and get rid of it, but I don't remember noticing this before and was curious. I couldn't seem to find any info about it on the web, but maybe I didn't come up with just the right search terms.
