>While compiling an app on my new computer, I ran into a problem that I attributed to not having VFP's PATH set correctly. So I was modifying it and referring to how I had it set up on my old machine. I noticed that I had some strange entries in the path that I decided must have been pulled from the OS environment and existed in the VFP on initial startup before my program appended other folders to the path. One was a Roxio folder, one was a QuickTime folder, and one was a folder for a small oscilloscope app I installed awhile back. There was no reason for any of those to be in my path and I wasn't explicitly putting them there. Does VFP read path info from the OS and put that info in the VFP path at startup? Obviously, I can just override that and get rid of it, but I don't remember noticing this before and was curious. I couldn't seem to find any info about it on the web, but maybe I didn't come up with just the right search terms.
Russell,
VFP doesn't read path from the Windows. Those entries had to be added by something or someone. You can safely remove them.
