>In the Netherlands the national flag is now banned on most schools. If a student wears the national flag of his own country he will be suspended or expelled from school. The reason for this is that this provokes the immigrants (the muslims) and therefore it is considered discrimination if you wear your country's flag in your own country. Even people who have an bumpersticker whit the flag on their car are harassed and called a facist by the Muslims. Most schools also ban certain clothing like the Lonsdale brand and combat boots with white or red laces. This is also concidered a sign of racism.
>There are of course no restrictions for the immigrants on clothing.

>Supposedly translated from Vlagverbod is wijdverspreid. I can't attest to the accuracy of the translation, I only know enough Dutch to order a beer.I'll leave to the Dutch themselves to comment (you posted too late in the day for them so we'll wait to see). My quick understanding of it is that it is an old news (Feb 2005) of one high-school (Lyceum) in a small city about this issue.
The last paragraph "maar denkt dat het weinig zin heeft om preventief te verbieden." basically says that it is not such a big deal as I gather.
Methinks you are making a mountain out of a molehill.
On the subject of the flag, what's your opinion on the constant breaking of the flag laws by people in this country (mostly immigrants). I see it in Florida every day and I remember it from Houston when I lived there. It is amazing to me, as a lack of respect the thousands of people that put their flag of national origin as a bumper sticker in their cars, without also displaying the US Flag as required by law, or displaying it wrong in the few cases they do.
