A little more investigation and I've de-confused myself, but the answer is disappointing. Basically, this RTF control contains the internal logic, with an associated set of properties, to let one change the font or font characteristics of selected text or paragraphs. However, it provides no UI objects to do so. You have to create you own buttons and write your own event code to accomplishing something like SelectedText.Bold=.T.

So, on to the obvious next question: Has anybody out there subclassed this control in a VCX so that it's a useful text editing tool (i.e., useful beyond a standard textbox)?
