>So do I. That's why I added that caveat that it's not a place I'd really want to live. BUT, I don't see a world where everybody respects everyone else's differences coming along any time soon. In fact, while I'd find it a horribly depressing way to live, the only way I see such peaceful co-existence happening is through the total assimilation of all people.

Depend whether you look at the big picture or the small. I live in a community where people come from a variety of backgrounds, races, religions, ethnicities, and whatever else you can think of. It's a warm, caring place, where we work together to raise our children. I grew up in another such community.

It can happen, but it has to happen in the small before it will happen in the large.
