Good point! I was raised in a Christian home - and - yes, my parent did teach me to believe in the Bible. The decision to do so was entirely my own. I am not trusting in the word of my parents or the word of my Pastors - but in the word of God - as introduced to me by them. I do a very thorough job of checking out just about everything I hear from the pulpit to be sure it is in line with what the Bible teaches. The Bible is the standard - not my parents - and not my Pastors.

First, I'd question the 99.9% number...but that's not really important. As a theist (one who believes in a god,) I choose to believe in the God of the Bible - who explicitly forbids serving other gods. Don't know how else to answer that one...
