>Thank you Kevin, you answered my question just as I wanted it to be answered. I too have a backgroud in FoxPro. But It was with FoxPro 2.6. Since developing a car Lot application I have gone into computer support. However would like to get back into Development work. I wasn't sure if I should advance into Visual FoxPro or just take on a new language. Sounds like you are making the transition and your choice was a good one.

If you are not practiced in C-style syntax and the OOP problem-solving approach, I would not try to jump into C#. The move from procedural to OOP is a huge step (some programmers never 'get it'). Add to that the sometimes cryptic C-style syntax in C# and the immense size of the .NET framework and you may become overwhelmed very quickly.

If you have the extra time, I think you should start with VFP 6 or 7 to get the hang of OOP (you can probably get a license for this on the cheap). Once you've gotten comfortable in 'OOP mode', then try C# or first VB.NET to learn the framework, then C#.
